2020 Amarula 17th Annual Production Sale
A focus to attract new producers to invest in Dorper genetics paid off for the Kirkby family of Amarula stud, Gravesend, with the commercial relevance of their stock helping them achieve a near perfect clearance in a tough selling climate.
Justin and Lorroi Kirkby were supported by 28 registered bidders in the grandstand and just as many online when they offered 79 Dorper rams, 44 White Dorper rams and 29 stud Dorper ewes.
All but seven lots were sold on the day with 15 of the younger Dorper rams selling to average $2460, 59 of the older Dorper rams averaging $1745, 15 young White Dorper rams averaging $1587 and 27 older White Dorper rams averaging $1926. A total of 30 ewes sold to average $1076.
